White vs brown almond butter
White or brown almond butter? There are two versions of our almond butter - white and brown. The big question: what is the difference? It is really pretty simple. For the brown version of almond butter, unpeeled almonds are roasted and processed into a creamy paste. This gives our brown almond butter a strong, nutty almond flavour. For the white almond butter, we use peeled, blanched almonds. This provides a slightly sweeter flavour. We really can't decide which of the two is more delicious, but one thing is certain: both are worth tasting and you can choose which one is your personal favorite!

Unopened, our almond cream will keep for at least 12 months. The exact best before date is to be found on the product itself. After opening, this almond butter will keep for about seven months.
You should store your almond paste in a cool place after opening. It may well be that some oil has settled on the almond paste – just stir in and enjoy!
The difference is that in the brown almond paste, the almond kernels are processed with skin. They are usually lightly roasted and not blanched. Our white almond paste, on the other hand, consists of blanched almond kernels.

According to Koro's customer support, the manufacturer has changed and roasts it darker because of the risk of aflatoxins and mold.
Allegedly, the mush is flawless and should taste like this. I can therefore only advise against it, as the new flavor tastes inedible and rancid.

Our quality management has already checked the affected batch several times and confirmed that the product is not objectively spoiled, but that there are sensory differences due to the change of supplier. The darker roast is part of the new production process to improve product safety. We understand that the change in taste can be disappointing, especially if you have already bought the puree several times and liked the previous version better.
