White vs brown almond butter? 

In addition to our white almond butter, you can now also get to taste brown almond butter. What's the difference between the two? Quite simply, white almond butter is made of peeled and blanched almond kernels while in the case of the brown version, we use unpeeled almonds  The kernels are not blanched, but lightly roasted instead; this gives our dark almond butter a stronger taste which will win you over!  

KoRo's brown almond butter  

Our brown almond butter does not contain any artificial flavors , colours or preservatives. You don't have to worry about added (palm) oil or salt either, because our almond butter consists of 100% almond kernels and has a naturally creamy consistency which needs absolutely nothing else. 

Recipes with almond butter

Almond butter is a great spread. But not only that: whether hot or cold, sweet or savoury - brown almond paste makes a great base for many vegan recipes and sometimes even a substitute. It is also excellent for seasoning and refining sauces, dips and vegetable dishes. It's even great in smoothies and for baking. And what would a porridge be without a little spoonful of our velvety almond paste as a topping?

Packaging type: Preserving jar

Real foodies aren’t just interested in the contents, but also in the packaging of their favourite product – and our preserving jars are a beautiful thing! The combination of sturdy glass and a tinplate lid with an integrated plastic seal makes for an unbeatable team. Why? Thanks to the seal, the contents can be vacuum-sealed, which significantly extends the shelf life of your treats. Especially with our nut butters, the wide preserving jar offers clear advantages in everyday life: you can stir the butter effortlessly, scoop it out easily and enjoy every last bit. Weighing between 120 and 350 grams (jar) and 10 to 20 grams (lid), the packaging is also very high-quality and sturdy.

Your jar is empty? Then please dispose of the lid and jar separately! The jar belongs in the glass recycling bin, whilst the lid goes in the metal bin. Both materials are highly recyclable. And the integrated plastic seal? Don’t worry, it accounts for less than 10% of the lid’s weight and is simply burned out during the recycling process. This means it doesn’t interfere with the metal recycling cycle and the tinplate can be recycled optimally.

At KoRo, we analyse the greenhouse gas emissions that are produced during the production of our snacks. These include, among other things, CO2, methane and nitrous oxide. Our hard-working sustainability team collects all the information to calculate a value: the so-called CO2 equivalents. We are now passing this information on to you so that you can make informed purchasing decisions and keep an eye on your personal carbon footprint. We also use these valuable findings ourselves, to try to make our supply chains even smarter in the future and monitor our CO2 footprint.

Yes, our almond paste is vegan. It consists exclusively of roasted almond kernels.
Almond paste should be stored in the refrigerator after opening
The processed almonds come from the USA (California), Australia, Chile, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Pakistan and Afghanistan. They are finally milled in Germany.
Almonds are naturally gluten-free. However, since our almond paste is not specifically certified as gluten-free, we prefer to omit this description.
Our almond puree consists of 100% unpeeled almonds. Many conventional nut purees contain palm oil as a cheap ingredient to become more spreadable. Our almond puree does not need this, so that literally nothing except the almonds comes into the glass. Neither sugar, nor salt or other flavorings, colorings and preservatives find their way into our brown almond paste. And one thing is clear: the incredibly creamy consistency of our nut puree does not suffer at all.
The puree is great as a spread, to spoon on its own, but also for savory dishes or to make your own almond milk.
The difference is that in the brown almond paste the almond kernels are processed with skin. They are lightly roasted and not blanched.
