Then you are ready for our shelled hemp seeds, yes thats right shelled although we also offer unpeeled hemp seeds. Their unique nutty flavour and great nutritional values will make hemp seeds become one of your favourite porridge, muesli, and salad ingredients. Very high in fibre and protein, these amazing seeds are packed in a practical and convenient 1 kg bag so that you won't run out too soon. Awesome, right?

What are hemp seeds? Superfood with a history

Hemp belongs to the family of the cannabis sativa plant species, and is one of the first plants to be grown for human use and consumption. Originally, hemp comes from Central Asia, but is nowadays cultivated pretty much in every region of the planet. In the past years, hemp has been living a veritable Renaissance; it has never been as beloved as it is today, as more and more people are falling in love with its numerous nutritional benefits. Since the hemp seeds also have a nutty aroma, they are perfect to give your dishes and smoothies an extra aroma and nutritional values! Aside from our shelled hemp seeds we also offer hemp seed oil and hemp pasta to enhance your dishes.

Plant-based source of protein

A high protein content and omega-3 fatty acids. Hulled hemp seeds are convincing in terms of their nutrients. They contain a whopping 32 g of protein per 100 g and provide you with all the essential amino acids - these are not produced by the body and must therefore be supplied through food. Such a complete source of protein is extremely rare in the plant world, which is why hemp seeds are also of particular interest to the vegans among us! For those of you craving another form of hemp we offer hemp butterhemp beetroot spread and  hemp spread with dates and spices to fulfill your bread spread fantasies. However you can count on a slightly higher proportion of these essential nutrients in our hulled hemp seeds. Perfect to add to your porridge, salad or baking creations and give them a new touch!

Climate impact

At KoRo, we analyse the greenhouse gas emissions that are produced during the production of our snacks. These include, among other things, CO2, methane and nitrous oxide. Our hard-working sustainability team collects all the information to calculate a value: the so-called CO2 equivalents. We are now passing this information on to you so that you can make informed purchasing decisions and keep an eye on your personal carbon footprint. We also use these valuable findings ourselves, to try to make our supply chains even smarter in the future and monitor our CO2 footprint.

CO₂ emissions by product

To make the work of our sustainability team easier, we have teamed up with the company Cozero. They support us with their decarbonisation software to calculate the CO2 emissions of our products. Our products go through a lot before they make their way into your pantry or snack bowl, so there is a lot to take into consideration: production, packaging, and logistics – to name just the big steps.

CO₂ emission per product in comparison

Would you like to find out how well your favourite snack stacks up against other products in terms of carbon footprint? Say no more! To create comparability, we calculated the CO₂ emissions per 1 kg of our products and compared them with other products that end up on many people's plates every day, such as cheese, tofu, and many more. We also included coffee as a drink for comparison. So no matter if it is your favourite snack or your go-to kitchen product, you are now able to see exactly how it performs in our “CO₂ per kg of product” ranking.

Comparison of CO₂ emissions per product in kg

Disclaimer: Different methods (comparison products) - The CO2 emissions of the non-KoRo products come from a different data source. Therefore, there may be differences between their evaluation method and the evaluation of KoRo products.

Questions & answers: Organic hulled hemp seeds 1kg
No search results.
One thing in advance: Our hemp seeds are seeds of the so-called edible hemp and therefore have no intoxicating effect. In addition, our hemp seeds may not be used for sowing. However, if you want to use the hemp seeds to refine your dishes, all possibilities are open to you. Our hemp seeds enrich many delicious dishes with their intense nutty flavor and are versatile.
The hemp seeds should be stored in a cool, dry place, protected from light. Under these optimal storage conditions, their minimum shelf life in the original sealed packaging is 18 months.

Yes, we get only 100% hulled hemp seeds in the bag and thus the product is purely vegetable. This makes the hemp seeds ideal for many vegan creations such as baked goods, smoothies or porridges!
With a whopping 32 g of protein per 100 g, hemp seeds contain more protein than some types of meat. In addition, they convince as one of the only plants with a complete amino acid profile. This makes them an excellent source of protein - and thus also interesting for the pumpers among us.
Since there is no better or worse in this case, the decision is entirely up to you. Unhulled hemp seeds are a bit crunchier and more flavorful due to the shell. Thus, they may be better suited as a topping, while hulled hemp seeds can be used very well for baking. Due to the shell, unhulled hemp seeds also have a slightly higher proportion of dietary fiber.
