Seitan - what is it anyway?

No matter if vegan sausage, kebab, chunks, gyros, steak or burger: seitan works in any situation. We know it is a very popular alternative for meat, but what exactly is seitan? Both tofu and seitan come from Asia. Unlike tofu, seitan is not made from soy beans, but from water insoluble wheat protein (aka gluten). Another difference between the two is that seitan has a meat-like consistency, which tofu does not. How do I store the seitan from KoRo?

Basically, the motto for our seitan is: the faster it is eaten, the better. After opening, you should store the seitan jar in the refrigerator.

Does the organic seitan from KoRo have a lot of protein?

Where does seitan come from?

Our seitan comes from China and the Netherlands. Even in the past, Japanese monks appreciated the benefits of seitan to enrich their very plant-based diet. In the entire Asian region, seitan is still regularly on the menu today.

Does the organic seitan from KoRo contain soy?

Yes, our seitan contains, among other things, soybeans. If you suffer from a soy allergy, we advise you not to eat our seitan.
