Brown vs. golden flax seeds

Now you are probably wondering about the difference between the two flax seeds, right? More often available in stores and supermarkets, brown flaxseeds are a more common ingredient; the golden variety is in fact a separate breed. The biggest difference between the two is obvious: the colour. But their taste is not exactly the same either, as the golden seeds taste slightly milder than their brown counterparts, which result in a nuttier, more intense tasting powder. However, what both have in common is a high swelling capacity! Both flours absorb a lot of water and swell a lot. Therefore, you should make sure you have enough liquid during preparation; the best thing to do is to let your dough stand for a minute longer and wait to see if any more water is needed.

What is the fiber content of goldlein flour?

Our golden linseed flour has an average of 42 g of dietary fiber per 100 g. This makes the flour a real fiber bomb. But be careful: You should not overdo it with fiber. All other nutritional values of our golden linseed flour you will find next to the product description.

Can I give the golden linseed meal to my pet?

We advise you rather to give whole or ground flaxseed to your dog, horse, chicken, bird, rabbit or dinosaur. If you have any questions about it, we recommend that you seek advise from your veterinarian.

Yes - and how good! You can simply mix 1 tablespoon of goldenlein seed flour with 3 tablespoons of hot water and let it stand for a short time: tadadada - you have created a goldenlein seed egg.

First and foremost, this refers to the fat content of a product. So you can expect partially deoiled and completely deoiled products to have a lower fat content - than comparatively the same product in regular form.

What can I use the golden linseed meal for?

Our golden linseed flour contains no gluten-containing ingredients. However, cross-contamination with gluten may have occurred in the manufacturing process - therefore we are not allowed to call it gluten-free.

Can I replace normal flour 1:1 with golden linseed flour?

Not quite: You have to keep in mind that flax seeds bind a lot of water! So that means for you: Take either a significantly larger amount of liquid or simply reduce the amount of flour.
