Hummus powder without tahini?

Hummus is usually made from chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, cumin, olive oil and a little water. But if you take a look at the ingredients list of our hummus powder, you will quickly notice that there is no tahini. Or does it? Our answer: Sure, because hummus without tahini would certainly only be half as good. Tahini is basically a paste made from ground sesame seeds. So in order to offer you hummus in powder form, we simply added sesame flour to the mixture. With a little water, you would have your beloved sesame paste again, which makes the hummus perfect! You only need to add the olive oil and a squeeze of lemon juice when mixing to create an aromatic, creamy hummus according to the original recipe. Your guests will be thrilled!

Hummus now comes in all kinds of flavours: We spontaneously think of the popular variants with beetroot, pumpkin or wild garlic. But our sweet chickpea spread is also becoming increasingly popular. How do I prepare the hummus?

It's very simple: For one serving, simply mix 50 g of the powder with 60-65 ml of water to a homogeneous mass - and the hummus is ready. What can I use hummus for?

In powder form, our hummus mixture can be stored for at least 12 months. To keep the powder edible for as long as possible, you should store it away from light, in a cool and dry place. Once the powder is mixed, you should store any leftovers in the refrigerator and use them up within the next 2-3 days. But that should be the least of your problems, right?

What is the hummus powder made of?

Our hummus powder consists of Chickpea flour, sesame flour, garlic powder and cumin - nothing more. Since Tahin is also just sesame flour with a little water, the only thing missing from our hummus mixture is olive oil and a little lemon juice to match the original recipe. So feel free to add these two components when mixing. But even without them, the aromatic and fresh taste is not lacking.

Can I eat the powder even as a vegan?

Naturally! For our hummus powder, we use only purely vegetable ingredients, which are also from organic farming. So if you're on a vegetarian or vegan diet, hummus is always a good choice. But who are we telling: hummus has long been the go-to dip of the vegan scene.
