It's Friday, 8 pm, work is done for the week: You're lying on your sofa and all you want is a good film, a cool drink and something to nibble on. We can know that feeling only too well! Whether sweet or salty - what would a cosy movie night be without the right snacks! Don't fancy greasy crisps and over-seasoned nuts, but still don't want to go without crunchy snacks? Don't worry - you don't have to. Instead of a bag of chips, your go-to sofa snack will from now on be a bowl of roasted edamame - a snack upgrade you'll love!

Salted edamame beans – the star of every sushi bar

But what exactly are edamame? The green pea-like beans are unripened harvested soybeans. Edamame beans are the star of every menu, especially in Asian cuisine. In Vietnamese restaurants or sushi bars, the green soybeans are best enjoyed raw - as salty appetisers or in edamame bean salads. To get to the light green inner part of the soybean, you put the entire pod in your mouth and then pull out the individual beans with your teeth. The salty finger food leaves us all wanting more, so we simply had to conjure up a snackable version for home. Get Asia's most popular appetiser now and enjoy the salted and roasted edamame as your sofa snack of choice. We have removed the shell for you - so let the snacking begin!

Edamame as a delicious alternative to crisps

A green legume as a new replacement for our beloved crisps and popcorn? It sounds strange, but it's true: with a slightly nutty and mild taste, edamame gives greasy crisps a run for their money. We season the roasted edamame with just a pinch of salt, no flavour enhancers - natural snacking can be so easy! If you fancy a bit of variety, you can also dip the dried edamame in hummus or spicy guacamole. The perfectly salty flavour makes the roasted edamame suitable not only as a snack, but also as an addition to an edamame bean salad or as a crunch in your poke bowl.

Protein-rich snack to enjoy at home

Do you know this feeling: After the first bite, you just can't stop snacking. As if by remote control, your hand keeps going back to the snack bowl. Thanks to our roasted edamame with salt, you can keep on snacking and get valuable proteins at the same time. Just 100g of our roasted edamame contains 43g of protein. So that we can give you ideal alternatives to crisps and similar snacks, we roast our soybeans without any fat and only season them with a pinch of salt. And the best thing is: with 13g per 100g, edamame are also an unbeatable source of fibre. What can't green soybeans do? Bring a little Japanese flair home and fill your snack shelf with our delicious salted edamame. Try our roasted and salted edamame in a smaller 750g pack, or why not sweeten the deal with our chocolate covered edamame!

Varieties & origins

Edamame_Grading

Green shell

This variety is an early and particularly large soybean. It has a bright pod colour and a full-bodied taste, and weighs an average of 1.5 g per grain.

Originally from Japan, the name Edamame means something like 'bean on a branch'. The soybeans are harvested slightly unripe and then generally steamed with the pod. However, only the green beans are then eaten, not their pericarp. Exact figures on the worldwide production of edamame beans are not known, this is why our map shows you the cultivation of other soy varieties as well.

I've never had edamame. Here too for reasons of bulk packaging cost. He wanted the protein bomb for snacking and was absolutely worth it. And it's always a pleasure

Go for it!

My guilty pleasure is roasted nuts, where I can never stop after the recommended amount for a day, so I was looking for an alternative. Et voilà the bean does the trick! They should be saltier for my taste, but then I'm probably already on my second addiction, so this product has the potential to treat me twice over.

High quality product

Very good quality. Useful as a protein-rich addition to breakfast cereal; 5kg bag is an excellent size provided one has adequate storage conditions.

practical as instant beans, but pure rather boring

Practical to take a little more protein on the side, but rather boring in taste. You also have to find the right chewing technique to not get bleeding gums, because the splinters easily get between the teeth. Unlike other soy products, they have a laxative effect, which is why you can not take so much of it in one day. They are also handy if you need times "instant beans" for cooking, because they quickly become soft in the soup. I have nothing to complain about the quality.

Fine. May add a little more salt.

Tasty and healthy snack. Very nice that Koro also provides insight into the analysis of the products, so you can assure yourself that they are not genetically engineered soybeans. That was my reason for buying them here.
