Where do cashew nuts grow?

The cashew nut is the kernel of a fruit that grows on the cashew tree, which is native to Brazil but is now cultivated in countries with tropical climates all over the world. Once harvested, the kernels have to be cleaned and processed – and of course we have taken that step for you, so you are free to use them to your liking to make them suitable for your favourite dishes!

Can you cook with cashews?

Yes, because cashews are great for making various sauces like cashew avocado sauce, cashew bechamel sauce, cashew broccoli sauce, cashew burger sauce or a delicious cashew carbonara. On the sauces, ready, go! To the Buddha Bowl, in the potato gratin or even in soups, the cashews are also very popular - enough scope to get creative!

What is special about our cashews?

Cashews are one of the absolute miracle nuts. They are not only a source of fiber, but also have a high protein content - these cashews are impressive, aren't they?

Do cashews contain a lot of protein?

Yes, because cashews are considered one of the most natural sources of protein or protein.

How can I continue to use the natural cashews?

The question should rather be what the cashews can't be used for. Puree a nut? Oh yes, it works! Try it out! Soak the nuts in hot water for 30 minutes beforehand and off into the blender with them. If you don't like the creamy consistency of pureed nuts, there are many other uses for them: Roasting in the oven or in a pan - both are possible! The sweetest among us can also simply dip their cashews in chocolate or caramelize in the pan - to melt away!

What is the best way to store cashews and what is the shelf life of the kernels?

If you store your cashews in a cold, dry and dark place, they will last for up to 12 months. KoRo's tip: Keep them out of the sun to prevent the nuts from spoiling.

Bei der Arbeit Spaß haben und Dir trotzdem leckere Produkte anbieten: Wir bekommen beides unter einen Hut. Dabei hilft es uns gar nicht so wenig, dass wir regelmäßig Leckereien aus aller Welt verkosten dürfen. An den besten Tagen dürfen wir sogar Cashewkerne zusammen probieren.

Der Cashewbaum

Cashewkerne wachsen, Du wirst es nicht glauben, an Cashewbäumen. Die sind mittlerweile ziemlich weit verbreitet, denn Cashewkerne können in vielen Regionen der Erde angebaut werden. Unsere leckeren Kerne stammen aus Indien und Vietnam.

Eine Nuss außerhalb einer Frucht? Ist das legal?

Halt Dich fest: Die Cashewnuss ist eigentlich keine Nuss sondern ein Kern. Wir waren auch schockiert, als wir das gehört haben, geben ihr aber trotz ihrer falschen Identität noch eine Chance – dafür sind unsere Cashewnüsse einfach zu lecker. Die Frucht, an der der Kern wächst wird Cashewapfel genannt und ist ebenfalls essbar.
