What is wasabi anyway? Wasabi is a member of the cruciferous family and comes originally from Japan, and is therefore also known with the name Japanese horseradish, even though all it has in common with horseradish is the family. I recently tried a pack of wasabi peanuts that really surprised me - in the most positive sense. If you like snacks that are both crunchy and spicy, you'll get your money's worth here. As soon as you open them, you get that typical wasabi aroma, which immediately makes you want more. The peanuts themselves are wonderfully crunchy and coated in an even layer of wasabi, which is just the right level of spiciness: intense, but not over the top. It burns briefly, clears the nose - and then you immediately want the next nut. What I particularly like is the balance between spiciness, salt and the slightly sweet taste of the peanut. Nothing dominates too much, everything fits together harmoniously. This makes the nuts not only exciting, but also surprisingly "snackable", even for people who tend to avoid spicy snacks. Delicious taste, unfortunately not organic quality

So the wasabi nuts are super tasty. In terms of taste, there is nothing to criticize. I chose Koro because I assumed they were organic quality. Now I take a closer look at the specification and see that they come from China and are not organic quality at all. Then a second stop, processing in the Netherlands. Phew, that's quite a lot. I'm happy to spend a bit more money but I bought them under different conditions. I think that's a shame.
