The banana chips are much lower in calories than the most commonly available banana chips, as they are made from plantains and have no added sugar. This also makes them slightly less crunchy, but we don't mind that. Perfect as a snack, addition to muesli or as a topping on chia seed pudding.

Asoartam and Acesulfam-K

"...and are made from purely plant-based ingredients" The statement "made from purely plant-based ingredients" is misleading if the product contains synthetic substances such as asoartame and acesulfame-K - which is unfortunately the case here (legally, this may even violate the EU Food Information Regulation (FIR), as it prohibits deception about the nature of the product (§11 LFGB)) Oh, by the way, these substances are also carcinogenic. :-/ It's contradictory to advertise something like this when one of the guiding values is to offer "high-quality food" and the "best possible products", which should taste good, be "safe and convince without many additives".

At the same time, we would like to clarify that both substances are not carcinogenic. They have been comprehensively tested and evaluated by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). The quantities ingested via food are far below any critical limit. There is no evidence whatsoever that these substances are harmful to health in the quantities normally consumed.

In fact, acesulfame K (E950) and aspartame (E951) have been comprehensively re-evaluated by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). The EFSA came to the conclusion that both sweeteners - at normal consumption levels and within the specified limits - are not considered carcinogenic and are classified as safe. It is important to us to be transparent and we take such feedback very seriously.
