The meaning of "Skinny Dipped"

No one is getting naked to prepare this awesome snack - although, actually, the comparison isn't all that far-fetched. After all, our blueberries aren't wearing any swimwear while being dipped in a bath of liquid dark chocolate (and no, we're not imagining blueberries in swimming trunks right now ...). Joking aside, we use the term "Skinny Dipped" because our freeze-dried blueberries end up surrounded by an extra thin and crunchy layer of dark chocolate.

So that explains the outer part of our newest sweet snack, but what is freeze-drying all about? In a nutshell, this process involves freezing our fruit and placing it under a vacuum, which immediately turns the frozen water into water vapour, thus removing almost all of the fruit's moisture. What remains in this case are beautifully shaped, crunchy blueberries that retain their intense fruit flavour and have a long shelf life. What is the shelf life of chocolate blueberries in dark chocolate?

Store the chocolate snack in a cool, dark place. There, it will keep for at least 12 months in its original sealed packaging. However, we strongly doubt that the chocolate fruits will remain untouched for that long.

Our blueberries are dipped in a bath of liquid dark chocolate - for a fruity-chocolate snack in a class of its own. The chocolate fruits are also vegan and have a high fiber content.

You can integrate freeze-dried fruits into your diet in moderation, just like our Skinny Dipped Chocolate Blueberries as an occasional sweet snack. How does the production of freeze-dried fruit work?

Freeze-drying is a very special preservation process. Immediately after harvesting, the blueberries are frozen and placed in a vacuum container for several hours, where the water is removed from them by the negative pressure. What emerges are freeze-dried blueberries that are particularly impressive for their intense flavor, full color and crunch. In addition, the blueberries have a much longer shelf life.
