Flavoursome olives from Greece
Kalamata olives, also called Kalamon olives, are a traditional Greek olive variety grown on the Peloponnese peninsula, in the Kalamata region. Due to their mild, buttery aroma, the black olives are often used for the production of olive oil. Unlike green olives, the dark, almond-shaped table olives have a firm bite and a soft, fleshy texture.
Black Kalamata olives in brine
Our black olives are harvested by hand and then naturally fermented. For this purpose, the fruits are traditionally pickled in a brine made of water, vinegar and sea salt. This gives the Greek olives their unique buttery and full-bodied flavour. The flavour develops over time: At first, the olives taste a little bitter due to the salt-vinegar brine, then they develop their fruity and aromatic sweetness - a unique taste experience that you can now enjoy at home!
Black olives as tasty allrounders
Our Greek olives bring a pinch of Greek flair into your kitchen: they are ideal for preparing hearty Greek tapenade and fresh dips or for spicing up salads.
