Our mango's origin

The mango belongs to the sumac family and is botanically related to pistachios and cashew nuts. It originally comes from India and is mostly cultivated in the tropical rainforest. Our organic mangoes come from controlled organic cultivation in Burkina Faso and Ivory Coast and we deliberately refrain from using any other additives.

Climate impact

At KoRo, we analyse the greenhouse gas emissions that are produced during the production of our snacks. These include, among other things, CO2, methane and nitrous oxide. Our hard-working sustainability team collects all the information to calculate a value: the so-called CO2 equivalents. Yes, our mangoes come from organic farming.

Can my dog eat the dried mango?

In small quantities you can also give the dried mango strips to your dog. We would be happy if you send us a photo of his facial expression (e.g. via Instagram)! If you have any questions about it, we recommend that you seek advise from your veterinarian.

How are the dried fruits produced?

In brief, the process is as follows: The fruits are grown in Burkina Faso. When they are ripe, they are harvested and peeled. Then the sliced mangoes are dried at low temperature in the oven. The mangos are then shipped to our KoRo warehouse in Germany in airtight value packs. Here, the mango strips are just waiting for you to click "Add to cart".

Are the organic mango strips vegan?

Yes, our organic mango strips are made from 100% mangoes. Therefore they are vegan.

How many calories have 100 g of dried mango from KoRo?

100 g mango strips contain 305 kcal. You can find the exact nutritional values next to the product description or on the product packaging.

Can I make the dried mango myself?

Of course, you can also make the dried mango strips yourself. The easiest way to do this is to use an automatic dehydrator, as the temperature can be kept constant at 50 degrees for a long period of time (about 10-12 hours). But also with an oven the drying process can work. Of course, you should keep in mind that we have already done this work for you. The mangoes are harvested between March and July when they are not quite ripe, so that after drying they have the perfect degree of ripeness. To meet the latter exactly with mangos from the supermarket is certainly a challenge. And not only that: Because we skip trade stages with our larger packages and pass the resulting price advantage on to you, you also save money.

How do I store the Mango Brooks?

KoRo organic mango should be stored in a cool and dry place. In addition, it should be protected from light.

Are the organic mango strips suitable for babies?

Yes, they are a popular ingredient in baby food because of their low acidity. If you don't make them into porridge, just make sure your baby only eats them sitting down - but that's probably nothing new for you.
