Doesn't everybody love meatballs? Meatballs are a favourite throughout Europe and the world, however, with more and more people opting for vegetarian or purely plant-based diets, a tasty, easy to prepare vegan alternative was necessary. At KoRo, we like to try out new things, so we decided to create this alternative! Here's how to use the dry mix to make vegan meatballs: simply mix the dry mix with 175ml of water and 4 tablespoons of canola oil. Let the resulting product rest in the refrigerator for 30 minutes, and then shape your meatballs or burgers. Finally, heat up 2–3 tablespoons of canola oil in a pan and fry the meatballs for 5-6 minutes. That's it! Nach der Zubereitung ergibt unsere Trockenmischung genau 222 g. Das entspricht etwa 7 Mini-Frikadellen a 30 g. Du kannst aber natürlich nach Belieben kleine oder große Frikadellen formen, daher bleibt die Anzahl der Mühlen Frikadellen komplett Dir überlassen!
The Mühlen meatballs were created as a cooperation between Rügenwalder Mühle and KoRo. Since long-shelf life products are our specialty the mix is dry. Therefore it has a longer shelf life than comparable products from the refrigerated shelves. On top of that the Mühlen meatballs are vegan and don't contain any additives and conservatives. 

The preparation is super easy! Just mix 175 ml of water and four tablespoons of rapeseed oil with the dry mix. Store it for 30 minutes in the fridge and then form it into meatballs. After that, they can be fried with 2–3 tablespoons of rapeseed oil in a pan on medium heat for 5–6 minutes on both sides.

Isn't it meat after all?

In any case, it is in no way inferior to real meat. Even the consistency is almost creepily identical (apart from cartilage stuff, which "unfortunately" you won't find here). I just hope that a long-term customer relationship can take place here and that the product won't actually be available "only for a short time" :-0

Mega good! This is a really good product for people who like meat but don't eat it for other reasons. It's almost frightening how well it comes close to a meat meatball. Absolutely recommendable!

Delicious for in between

Taste as good as expected. Preparation is simple.



Really good

The texture, taste and frying properties are almost like meatballs. We liked them, even compared to the many meat substitutes we have already tried. They fried up crispy brown, were well seasoned and I didn't need the prepared mustard dip. :-) When planning your meal, however, you need to keep an eye on the fridge time of at least 30 minutes.

Great....only a little too salty

Unfortunately a little too much salt, but otherwise a good substitute product. The consistency is really juicy compared to many other very dry alternatives. It's been over 20 years since I last ate an animal meatball, but this product reminds me a little of it in terms of consistency.... fortunately, the taste is not "meaty" ;-)

Very tasty! But could be a little cheaper.

The fricas taste nice and spicy and have a fairly coarse consistency, which I like. They are also rich in protein, but the price could be a little lower.

A clear recommendation to buy!

These meatballs are amazing. The consistency is not mushy at all, rather a little chunky, which I think is great. They are really quick and easy to prepare.

I am thrilled

I tried them and thought that after 30 minutes of soaking in the fridge, the consistency was still a bit crunchy, so I added another half an hour. When fried in the pan, they were really tasty and had the right consistency. When frying, it reminded me of the last non-vegan meatballs I fried 20 years ago. The taste was really great. Perhaps a little too much salt in the mixture, but a great product. Unfortunately, it's only available for a short time. You should add it to your range permanently. I'll order more right now before they're no longer available. It will keep for a while, just like I'm used to from Koro.

Not my cup of tea in terms of taste

Preparation; super easy. Appearance and smell when mixed: too intense, rather unpleasant. Kneading meatballs: easy to do. When fried, these things actually look like perfect meatballs and can be fried nicely brown in a short time. But there is still room for improvement in terms of taste. I found them tolerable with sweet Bavarian mustard. But I won't be buying them again. Nevertheless, it's a great idea for preparation that could be developed further and I hope it has a future - especially if the meatballs tasted better. But the fact is that mince is harder to imitate in taste than many other things. So far, the Beyond products have been the most convincing in terms of taste.
