Made of 100% roasted cashew nuts, its taste is uniquely nutty and sweet. Compared to normal cashew butters, ours is more a cashew mousse, being more liquid – but it is the same product.

Thanks to the quality of the raw nuts we use, our cashew butter does not need any oil – simply 100% ground cashew nuts of the best quality – no oil, no sugar and unsalted! This is why our product tastes so incredibly delicious that you will want to bathe in it! And why not? The ideal companion for breakfast, lunch, and dessert

You can just spoon our raw cashew butter straight out of the jar – and this is probably the best way to enjoy its unique taste and smooth texture! Cashew butter: The alternative to cheese and whipped cream

In vegan cuisine, cashew butter is often used as a substitute for cream and cheese. Information about our cashew butter

If you are already one of our loyal cashew butter customers (which we can only advise you to be), you may notice the change in consistency of our cashew butter. This is due to our switch to a different supplier. Thanks to his so-called ball mills, our new supplier can get the fat out of the cashews even better. As a result, the consistency can be more fluid - in terms of taste, our cashew puree will still transport you to seventh nut heaven, KoRo's word of honour. Speaking of taste: As a cashew puree newcomer, you might be surprised by the similarity in taste to peanut butter . However, the sweet, nutty taste is actually based exclusively on roasted cashews. The colour of the cashew puree depends on the degree of roasting of the crushed cashews. For us, definitely one of our favourite nut mushes right from the start. Cashewbäume genießen das tropische Klima in Südostasien

Cashews gehören zu den beliebtesten Nüssen. Dabei sind sie botanisch gesehen gar keine Nüsse, sondern Kerne. Die Cashewkerne für unser Cashewmus kommen aus dem Vietnam. Dort sitzen die Experten für Cashewbäume – aus Vietnam werden weltweit die meisten Cashewkerne exportiert.

Bäume höher als zwölf Meter

Cashewbäume sind schnellwüchsig und lassen sich von langen Dürreperioden nicht beeindrucken. Sie wachsen teilweise über zwölf Meter hoch, was die Ernte der sogenannten Cashewäpfel mitunter schwierig gestaltet…

Zur Ernte färbt sich der Cashewapfel gelb oder rot

Um an die Cashewapfel zu gelangen, müssen die Bauern auf hohe Leitern steigen. Cashewäpfel sind im unreifen Zustand grün und färben sich zur Erntezeit gelb oder rot. Auch der Cashewapfel ist essbar und schmeckt ähnlich wie Birnen. Der große Schatz lauert aber im Cashewapfel: der Cashewkern.

Die Cashewkerne befinden sich im Pflanzenstiel

Genauer gesagt befindet sich der Cashewkern im Pflanzenstiel des Cashewapfels. Um an den Kern zu kommen, wird die Frucht erhitzt und aufgeknackt. Tada, der Cashewkern ist geerntet. Da in jedem Cashewapfel nur ein einziger Cashewkern ist, muss für ein so großes Glas an Cashewmus eine ganze Weile gesammelt werden.

Geröstet…

In unserem Cashewmus wird sogenannter Cashewbruch verarbeitet. Das bedeutet, dass die gebrochenen Cashews kleiner als 4,75 mm sind. Damit sind sie in einer guten Größe, um geröstet zu werden.

…und ab in den Supermixer

Nachdem die Cashewkerne den Mixer gesehen haben, sind sie ganz schnell viel kleiner. Bei der Vermusung ist wichtig, dass das Pürier-Gerät eine hohe Leistungsfähigkeit hat. Wenn Du in der WG-Küche mit einem handelsüblichen Mixer Cashewmus selber herstellen willst, wird dieser höchstwahrscheinlich überhitzen. Dabei gehen die wertvollen Nährstoffe der Cashewkerne verloren.

What is the difference between cashew puree, cashew butter and cashew cream?

If you want full nut power, go for nut puree. In pistachio puree, cashew puree and Co. are always 100% pureed nuts. Nothing else is added to the mass. Cashew creams and cashew butters, on the other hand, often contain additives such as sugar or stabilizers. Also in the commercial peanut butter are often additives - look best always at the ingredients on the back of the products.

How do cashews grow?

Cashews are seeds of the cashew apple and grow on the cashew tree.

Why doesn't the glass pop when you open it?

Since our nut milks are not heated during filling, there is no vacuum and therefore they do not pop when opened. This has nothing to do with quality defects.

What is the shelf life of cashew butter?

Nut musts keep fresh for a long time due to the high natural content of nut oil. Since we do not add any emulsifiers or stabilizers to our cashew butter, some oil may settle on the surface. You can simply stir this back in with a spoon - and then lick the spoon without a guilty conscience. Depending on how you like your cashew butter, you can store it either in the refrigerator or at room temperature. In the refrigerator the cashew butter gets a firmer consistency, at room temperature it remains liquid-creamy.
