Carrot Oatmeal

We show you how to conjure up a very special oatmeal with vegetables! Oatmeal, the recipe that originated in Scotland, is mainly known as a hot breakfast meal, but it is also a super tasty and, above all, wholesome alternative for in-between meals. Another plus point is that oatmeal is very versatile: it can be prepared both sweet and savory. Here we present a sweet recipe with a very special ingredient: Carrots. It may sound strange at first, but carrot oatmeal tastes super delicious and creamy, especially when combined with dates and almonds.

5 tbsp. Oat flakes
3 Units Dates
2 tbsp. grated carrot
1 tbsp. Almonds, chopped
250 ml Milk (or plant-based alternative)
1 Tsp. Toppings: almond paste, carrot, almonds
  • Step 1/4

    First, heat the milk in a saucepan over a medium heat.

  • Step 2/4

    Next, add the rolled oats. Leave the mixture to simmer for about 3 minutes and then turn the heat down.

  • Step 3/4

    Then add the grated carrot and cook until the desired creamy consistency is achieved.

  • Step 4/4

    Before serving, chop the dates and stir them into the carrot oatmeal. Now pour everything into a bowl and garnish your oatmeal with the toppings. Have fun cooking!
