Why the recall?

The sunflower seeds used in these products have been found to exceed the legal limit for Ochratoxin A. Whilst the health risk from consuming these products is considered minimal, we are recalling the affected batches as a precautionary measure and removing them from sale. In the best interest of our customers, we advise against consuming the affected batches as a potential health risk cannot be completely ruled out.

What is Ochratoxin A?
Ochratoxin A is a naturally occurring substance produced by moulds and can occur as a contaminant in various foods.

Despite our rigorous quality assurance processes, such cases can unfortunately occur. We are committed to investigating this incident fully and keeping our customers informed with complete transparency. Additionally, we have also reviewed and further strengthened our internal quality and safety processes to help prevent similar cases in the future.

We will, of course, refund the purchase price for products from the affected batches:

  • If you purchased your product through the KoRo online shop, please complete the following form no later than 01.09.2025. Refunds will be processed after 01.09.2025 using the same payment method used for your purchase.
  • If you purchased your product through retail, you can return it to the respective point of sale and receive a refund for the purchase price, even without presenting a receipt.

If you have any questions, our customer service team will be happy to help. Please contact us at service@korodrogerie.de with the subject line “KoRo Spread Recall”. We will address your concern as quickly as possible.
