The three main reasons
We can assure you of one thing: if your favourite product is currently unavailable, it is not because someone forgot to reorder it. There are various reasons for this:
Reason #1: The KoRo community is snacking more than we anticipated
In a nutshell: you love KoRo. It sounds absurd, but KoRo is growing at an enormous rate, much faster than we could have imagined. And although we are already planning generously, demand is often even greater! We are delighted about this, but it also presents challenges: our suppliers sometimes cannot keep up with production, machines are running at full capacity and occasionally there is simply a shortage of staff to produce your favourite snacks. This can, of course, lead to product shortages from time to time.
Reason #2: The season changes, and so do we
Just like at the supermarket, some fruits are only available at certain times of the year. Strawberries in winter? Nope! Many of our products are also seasonally limited. Our mangoes, for example, are only harvested once a year, and we have to register our demand well in advance. If our growth during this period is faster than expected, there simply is no way to quickly harvest a few more mangoes. This is because there is only a limited quantity available with the quality we want to offer you. Then it's time for us (and you) to wait for the next harvest.
Reason #3: Only the best for you
There is one thing we do not compromise on: quality. Every delivery that arrives at our warehouse is carefully checked by our quality management team. And if it does not meet our standards, it does not go on sale – period. This can lead to gaps in stock in the short term, but we would rather have an empty shelf than a product that is not up to scratch.
A look behind the scenes
An empty shelf is a real nightmare for us foodies. That's why we do everything we can to reorder products as quickly as possible. But this doesn't happen overnight. Our suppliers need to have the production capacity and raw materials available – after all, we're not talking about snack portions here, but huge orders.
How do we make our plans?
- We base our forecasts on our own calculations, supported by AI and machine learning.
- For existing items, we look at previous demand in the shop and company growth.
- And for brand new products? We look at the sales performance of comparable products to estimate how quickly you will snap them up.
What does all this mean for you?
To make sure you don't miss out on your favourite product, you can activate the ‘Notify me’ function – we'll let you know as soon as it's available again.
And until then? Why not browse the category of your missing product – you might discover something new that will make your snack-loving heart beat just as fast. Who knows, maybe the temporary replacement will end up becoming your new favourite.
