Discounts at KoRo? Doesn't that exist?!

Contrary to our previous philosophy, KoRo is currently discounting selected products for a certain period of time. Why this remains only an exception, you will learn in this article.

Discounts at KoRo? Doesn't that exist?!

Why are there usually no discount promotions at KoRo?

One of our most important goals at KoRo is to offer you a good and stable price-performance ratio. This means that we calculate our prices rather tightly from the beginning. We compare ourselves with our competitors and calculate our required minimum margin. This margin serves on the one hand to cover our fixed costs and on the other hand for investments in the further development of KoRo. If there are changes in the calculation, e.g. because raw material prices fluctuate, we change the price permanently and do not work with discount campaigns. Of course, we communicate this openly. We are convinced that this is more transparent and fairer than charging far more than the required minimum margin for a product 11 months a year and then offering it at a discount for one month. That's why you will rarely find discounts at KoRo and we want to keep it that way.

Since some time we have created a small exception: In our sale category you will find items with small blemishes or a short best-before date, which we therefore do not want to sell at full price, but above all we do not want to sort out. So we not only want to make you happy with reduced prices, but also to counteract food waste.

But now there are discounts, what's going on? You can currently find some immaculate products temporarily discounted in the store. This is especially due to our current liquidity needs:

The following reasons are examples of higher liquidity needs:

  1. New suppliers want to be paid in advance.
  2. Certain products, such as an advent calendar, are commissioned many months before the actual sales launch and must be paid for before they generate sales.
  3. New projects require a certain amount of working capital to get up and running.

This means that with a small discount campaign we would like to give our sales a small boost, in order to then use the income to initiate new projects. However, this does not change our basic conviction that we want to work with permanently low prices and not with discounts. Discounts remain the exception.
