Do you already know Newtons? They are a delicate, moist pastry with a fruity fig filling. We have a great recipe for you that requires no baking and takes the pleasure to the next level. You can prepare the newtons very quickly and easily and store them in the refrigerator for several days. So you are perfectly supplied with snacks, or can surprise your guests with a new cake alternative.

110 g Dates
40 g Oatmeal
1 Prise Salt
60 g Pecan kernels
1 Tsp. Lemon peel
100 g Figs
1 Tsp. Ginger
2 Tsp. Cinnamon
1 Tsp. Speculoos spice
1 Tsp. Vanilla extract
  • Step 1/5

For the filling, soak the figs and dates in hot water for about 10-15 minutes.

  • Step 2/5

In a blender, process pecan kernels and rolled oats into flour. Then add dates to flour mixture with a pinch of salt. Blend all ingredients until a crumbly but cohesive mixture is formed. Form the dough into a ball and set aside for now.

  • Step 3/5

Place the soaked dates and figs in a blender with the remaining ingredients and blend until a spreadable mixture is formed. If necessary, simply add water.

  • Step 4/5

Spread a baking paper on the work surface, roll out the dough on it into a rectangle. Spread the filling evenly on it, roll everything up and close the seam with your fingers.

  • Step 5/5

Then store the whole rolled up in baking paper in the refrigerator. It is best to cut off small newtons just before serving.
