KoRo seals the deal: From now on, our parcels are made entirely of paper!

Anyone who already loves ordering creamy nut butter and tasty protein bars from KoRo will now love ordering them even more. Because: KoRo is getting a little greener! Packages from our warehouse have been given a fresh, new design and have also been made entirely of paper since August 1, 2023 - including parcel tape. This makes them easier to recycle.

KoRo seals the deal: From now on, our parcels are made entirely of paper!

What does that mean for you?

You actually have to separate the plastic adhesive tape from the cardboard box on parcels. In hectic everyday life, however, many people are not so exemplary when it comes to this - you know the drill. We at KoRo thought that we would simply take this step off your hands. Because from now on, you can throw your KoRo parcel completely into the waste paper, because everything, including the parcel tape, can be disposed of in the paper waste! Instead of plastic, our tape is made of paper fibers with natural rubber adhesive. As always, the cardboard is made from recycled paper and is also fully recyclable.

Hand on heart

As in every company, there are many areas that can and must be worked on in order to become even more sustainable. At KoRo, we are also gradually trying to improve our processes. For example, since 2021, we have been using honeycomb paper instead of plastic bubble wrap to protect our parcels against breakage. This is important to ensure that your jar of nut butter arrives safely and can be spooned out in peace. This change enabled us to avoid over 570 kilos of plastic in 2021 and a whopping 16.8 tons in 2022. Small change, big impact!

And it's not for nothing that we prefer to sell bulk packs: For example, this can save up to 40% plastic packaging per kilogram of product compared to smaller packaging commonly used in retail. In 2022, around 57 tons of plastic could be avoided thanks to the advantage packs*. And that's not only good for your pantry, but also for your ecological footprint. If you would like to know what else we are doing to constantly improve and what challenges we face in the process: Take a look at the KoRo Impact Report! There you can find out more about our sustainability philosophy.

*The average savings were determined based on a sample of products from different categories (snacks, nuts, dried fruit, cooking ingredients) compared to standard retail competitors and extrapolated to our entire range in bulk packs.
