The original idea of coating the popular peanuts with chocolate comes - how could it be otherwise - from the USA, where the chocolate bar was invented in the 1920s and 1930s. It didn't take long for the brilliant idea to melt chocolate and coat nuts with it - and voilá, the first chocolate peanuts were born. Nowadays, these are available in all shapes and varieties.
