Production
Algerien liegt im Norden Afrikas und gilt als eines der Hauptanbaugebiet der Deglet Nour Dattel. Sein Nachbarland Tunesien ist aber auch ganz vorne mit dabei!
Die Dattel, die es bei uns in Europa meist zur Weihnachtszeit gibt, ist die Deglet Nour Dattel.
Die Pflanze, an der Deglet Nours Datteln wachsen, wird Echte Dattelpalme genannt. Sie kann eine Wuchshöhe von 15 bis 20 Metern erreichen und hat eine Nutzzeit von 80-100 Jahren.
Nachdem die Deglet Nour Datteln 5 bis 7 Monate lang gereift sind, können sie zwischen September bis Januar geerntet werden. Danach werden sie dann sortiert, gewaschen und mit Wasserdampf behandelt. Bevor die Datteln in unseren Regalen liegen, müssen sie noch getrocknet und abgepackt werden.
